OURMINISTRIES

We have the following ministries:

The Christian Education Ministry: The Christian Education consisting mainly of the Sunday School shall be the basic ministry for the Bible teaching program. Its task is to reach persons for Bible study; teach the Bible; witness to persons about Christ and lead persons to accept Christ as their personal Savior. In addition, it is to minister to Sunday School members and nonmembers; lead members to worship; interpret and undergird the work of the church and the Baptist denomination.

The Music Ministry: The church music ministry, under the leadership of the pastor and deacons and under the direction of the church musicians, shall be the music education, training and performance ministry of the church. Its task shall be to provide worshipful musical experiences at all services; develop musical skills, attitudes and understanding of corporate church worship. The primary mission of the church music ministry is to serve the church therefore all other engagements are to be approved by the pastor. The ministry is to support the pastor; witness and minister through music; and undergird the work of the church and the Baptist denomination.

The Home and Foreign Missionary : The Home and Foreign Missionary shall be the mission education, mission action, and mission support ministry of the church for women, men, young men and women and youth. Its tasks shall be to teach missions; engage in mission action and personal witnessing; support missions; and interpret and undergird the work of the church in the Baptist denomination.

It shall raise funds for the sick and less fortunate. It should make certain that the church has funds to support missions through the New Hope Association; the Unified Program of the General Baptist State Convention and through direct giving to such causes as the church may direct, such as Shaw Divinity School , Shaw University , and the Central Children's Home of North Carolina, Inc.

The Ushers' Ministry : The ushers' ministry shall consist of persons of all ages and shall have the task of making members and visitors feel welcome upon entering the sanctuary. It is to assist in seating persons; take care of their needs and keep order as much as possible during worship service. The ushers shall sponsor a nurse's unit and equip a recovery room, if possible. At least one usher should be certified to administer CPR.

The Youth Ministry : The task of the youth ministry is twofold. First, it shall help young persons to grow spiritually and physically as a part of the Body of Christ. Second, it should work in conjunction with the Home and Foreign Missionary Ministry to train young people to become equipped for Christian leadership responsibilities, both within and outside the church. The youth ministry will meet each 2nd Saturday at 10 am.

The Youth and Young Adult Ministry is for young persons from toddler to young adult. Under the leadership of the youth director and other capable adult leaders, monthly sessions are held to assist the youth and young adults in three areas: knowledge of the Bible and church etiquette, academic readiness and the development of their social skills. They are also encouraged to become more active in the body of Christ by becoming members of the Usher Ministry, the Youth Choir, the El- Basic Young Adult Choir or the Young Adult Praise Team.

We have just formed a MEN'S MINISTRY and our WOMEN'S MINISTRY that should be revived in the very near future!
